Doc Hollywood, Enigma, Casey Kaesem... just a few of the memorable monikers friends have dubbed the voice of 3rd Story, Steve Savis. Throughout the years, one thing remains tried and true...he never met a microphone he didn’t like.
 
Steve’s earliest musical memory was as a 5-year-old crooning for his sister’s sixth grade class while she accompanied him on saxophone.  From that auspicious beginning in the late 1970s, music became an integral part of his life.
 
During the era of greed, parachute pants, and the Rubik’s cube, Steve began honing his musical craft, singing in choirs, emceeing talent shows, and studying vocal performance at the Conservatory and School for the Arts.  As the 1990s rolled in, undergraduate and graduate school became a central focus.  He joined Monsanto in 1996, but he kept in touch with his musical roots at weddings and the occasional sit-in with local rock bands.
 
The dawn of the new millennium began a 4-year world business tour that took Steve to 28 countries on 5 continents.  From Sweden to Venezuela to Japan to Australia, Steve was exposed to many diverse cultures and musical styles that still influence him today.  Winning an amateur vocal competition in 2002 reinvigorated his passion for music, and Steve spent much of 2003 recording a solo CD of covers, “Eclecticity.” 
 
In February 2004, one year after his lovely wife Laura agreed to marry him on a mountaintop in Queenstown, New Zealand, Steve and Laura were wed.  Shortly thereafter, the time was right to take his music to a new level.  Enter 3rd Story.
 
Steve counts among his musical influences Billy Joel, Elton John, Steve Perry, The Police, U2, Freddie Mercury, Michael Crawford, George Strait, and Tina Turner.  He strives to reflect those varied influences in his vocal versatility, energetic performances, and unabashed showmanship with 3rd Story.  You be the judge.  Until then, keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars.
