Steve began his music career as a member of several hard rock bands formed during his high school years growing up in Oxford, Ohio.  It was the early 1980s, and at that point Steve’s musical favorites were groups like Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Rush, Black Sabbath, Ted Nugent, and Deep Purple.

A few years later, while attending Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, Steve was a founding member of two successful classic rock bands:  The Intruders (1984-1986) and The Sleeping Giants (1986-1987).  Both of these groups enjoyed success on the New Orleans club circuit and within Tulane’s campus environment.  The music included original songs (two of which received airplay on Tulane’s FM radio station, WTUL) and covers by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Police, Elvis Costello, U2, The Clash, and others.

Following his graduation from college in 1987, Steve’s bass guitar took a back seat to finishing law school (at St. Louis University in 1990), marriage (to his wife, Diane, in 1991), and the births of his three daughters.

In 2004, as Steve approached the age of 40, he had to make a serious mid-life decision:  Would it be a Porsche, a Harley Davidson, or a rock and roll band?  The choice was an easy one, and now Steve handles the bass guitar duties for St. Louis’ hottest cover band, 3rd Story.
